Issue

  • Emails from someone I know are going to my Junk folder
  • I'm not seeing emails from a specific sender in my Inbox
  • A legitimate email was marked as spam
  • How do I stop emails from a sender going to Junk?
  • Add a safe sender in Outlook

Environment

  • Duquesne University email (Microsoft 365)
  • Microsoft Outlook for Windows
  • Outlook on the Web (OWA)

Resolution

Outlook for Windows

  1. With Outlook open, go to the Home ribbon and select Junk, either from the Junk icon or from the More options (...) drop-down.
  2. Select Junk E-mail Options...
  3. Select the Safe Senders tab, then click Add...
  4. In the Add Address or Domain dialog box, type the email address or domain you want to mark as safe.
  5. Click OK to add it to your Safe Senders list.
