Changing Your Password
Your MultiPass password is the key you use to access personal information that you've stored on your computer and in your online accounts. If a cybercriminal steals your password, they can use your name to open new credit card accounts, apply for a mortgage or pose as you in online transactions. Often, you won't even know this is happening until it's too late.
You have to change your MultiPass password once per year.
Two weeks before your password needs to be changed, you'll get an email telling you to go to duq.edu/multipass to make the change.
This article will explain how you can do that.
Recommended Devices and Browsers
Just a heads up! You can follow these steps on any device, even a smartphone, but we suggest using a desktop or laptop computer and an up-to-date copy of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari for the smoothest experience. However, it will work on a smartphone! You can review the steps in How To: Change Your MultiPass Password (On Mobile) for instructions.
Steps
- Go to the Welcome to MultiPass page and click on Change/Forgot Password
- Click on "Log In to Change Your Password", then enter your username and password, and click Login.
- In the field "Old Password", enter your current password. In the "New Password" fields, type your new password, making sure to enter it the same way both times. Then, click on the Change Password button.
Confirm that there are green checkmarks next to all the password requirements before continuing.
- Once your password is successfully changed, you will receive a confirmation prompt. Press the "Close" button to complete the password change.
