How To: Copy Content from One Canvas Course to Another

This document is intended to provide instructions on how to copy specific content from your sandbox site into another Canvas course.

Steps

  1. Open your sandbox site and select Modules from the course navigation bar, located on the left side.

  2. Find the content you wish to copy into another course, click the content’s Options (three dots) located to the far right of the content’s name.

  3. After clicking this, click Copy To, from the dropdown menu.

  4. Copy To…
    • a. Under Select a Course, type the course name you wish to copy content to.
    • b. Click the course when it appears on the list.

  5. In the Select a Module search box, choose which module you would like the content to appear in.

  6. Choose where you would like your content to be placed in your Module under Place.
    Note: At the Top, will be the automatic option and is recommended for accessibility purposes.

  7. When you have chosen your course and module to copy to, press the red Copy button.

  8. Your content will now appear in the course and module you copied to.
