Body

Description

In some cases, faculty can enable an optional feature in Respondus LockDown Browser to record the screens of test-takers. On Mac, this requires some special permissions to be set by the test-taker. This article explains how to do so.

Steps

Note: This article assumes that you already have Respondus LockDown Browser installed on your Mac device.

  1. Launch the test you are trying to take in Respondus. If you have not yet given Respondus permissions to record your screen, you will be prompted with a screen saying "Screen Recording - Permission Needed."
  2. Click Continue on this prompt to close Respondus.
  3. Go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy.
  4. Click the lock icon in the lower left and enter your admin password.
  5. Click on "Camera" in the left-hand menu and check the box next to LockDown Browser.
