How do I transfer a call to another person or voicemail using my Mitel phone?
Environment
- University-issued Mitel desk phones are used by faculty and staff.
Resolution/Answer
Warm (Attended) Transfer
- While on a call, press the Transfer key.
- Dial the extension or external number.
- Wait for the recipient to answer.
- Let the person know who you are transferring and why.
- Press the Transfer key or Yes soft key to complete the transfer.
Note: You cannot transfer calls while the caller is on hold.
Cold (Blind) Transfer
- While on a call, press the Transfer key.
- Dial the extension or number.
- Immediately press the Transfer key again or hang up.
Cancel a Transfer
- Press the Cancel soft key or the Line button to return to the original call.
Note: Some call types (e.g., Ring Groups or calls routed through screening rules) may not support voicemail transfers.
