How To: Use the Outlook Report Phishing Button

Description

We’ve introduced a new feature that allows users to easily report suspicious emails, such as phishing attempts, directly within Outlook. This guide will walk you through the process across different platforms.

Environment


Outlook Client for Windows

  1. Open the email you want to report.
  2. Click the Report button.

 

     3. Select one of the following:

Report Phishing: Flag the email as a phishing attempt.

Report Junk: Mark the email as spam or unwanted mail.


Outlook Client for Mac

  1. Open the suspicious email that you wish to report.
  2. In the email window, click the three dots (ellipses) in the upper right corner of the email.

NOTE: DO NOT REPORT USING THE REPORT OPTION ON THE RIBBON. THESE ARE NOT SENT TO CTS.

        3. From the dropdown menu, hover over Report Message.

        4. Select one of the following options:

Phishing: Report the email if you believe it is a phishing attempt.

Not Junk: Mark the email as safe if it was incorrectly identified as junk.


Outlook Web App (OWA)

  1. Open the email you want to report.
  2. Click the down arrow next to the Envelop icon.

    3. Choose the appropriate option:

Junk: Report the email as spam or unwanted mail.

Phishing: Report the email as a phishing attempt.

Not Junk: Mark the email as safe if it was incorrectly identified as junk.


Note:

Reporting phishing helps protect you and other users from potential email scams.

Emails flagged as phishing or junk are reviewed by our team.

You can also use this feature to mark legitimate emails as Not Junk if they were incorrectly flagged.
