Overview

Rise Vision is a cloud-based digital signage platform used on our campus to streamline and enhance communication. It provides a dynamic way to display information across various screens, including event announcements, schedules, emergency alerts, and other key updates. The system is accessible from any device with an internet connection, making it convenient for administrators to manage content remotely.

At  Duquesne University, Rise Vision is deployed in strategic locations such as academic buildings, student centers, and recreational areas. This ensures that students, faculty, and visitors are always informed and engaged with the latest campus updates.

Rise Vision offers features such as:

  • Content Scheduling: Schedule different types of content to appear at specific times.
  • Playlist Management: Organize various media types, including videos, images, and web pages, into custom playlists.
  • Emergency Alerts Integration: Instantly display critical information in case of an emergency.

Important Notes:
Rise Vision users must have been granted access to the devices in their department before they can log in and see the available options. If you do not have access or are unable to view your department’s devices, please contact the IT support team for assistance.

  • If you need to be granted access to Rise Vision please complete that request HERE
  • If you need to purchase digital signage equipment for your department, such as a TV or computer to manage your signage, please contact the Office of Classroom Technologies (OCT) at 412-396-4614 or by emailing oct@duq.edu
  • Users can only be granted access to devices in their department and cannot be admin for more than one department

How To: Create and Manage Your Digital Signage with Rise Vision

Setting up your digital signage with Rise Vision is quick and easy! Follow these simple steps:

  1. Choose and Customize a Template
  2. Schedule Your Content

Choose a Template

After logging into Rise Vision, you will need to ensure you are in the correct sub-company by navigating to your profile on the top right. Click this and make sure that the correct sub-company is selected.

After selecting the correct sub-company. The fastest way to create your first presentation is to start with one of our pre-designed templates and customize it with your own message, logo, and colors.

  1. Select Presentations from the top
  2. Choose Add Presentation – From here you are given a variety of presentation options.
  3. Click the image to preview the template or the green + sign to select template and begin editing

Please Note: If you are using an Apple TV as a Rise Vision display please toggle the Apple TV Compatible option on the left to avoid compatibility issues.

Customize a Template

After selecting a template, you will be given options along the left-hand side of the page that allows you to adjust the elements of the templates such as Titles, Pictures, Text Items and more.

Once you are happy with the look or you display item you can finalize your selection by choosing the Publish option on the top right.

Schedule Your Content

Once you have published your chosen display item you can add it to your monitor by selecting Schedules at the top. On this page you should see a list of schedules available, the time setting for the display, the displays currently hosting the schedule and the last modified date.

After selecting your schedule, you will be given a list of options and settings for your display such as

Timeline – Sets a schedule for how long you want this item displayed
Distribution – Choose which displays will host your content
Override – Determines how this content interacts with the default display content
Playlist – Show presentation items currently added as part of this schedule.

To add your newly created presentation items simply select the Add Playlist Item option and choose Presentation then select your new item or multiple items from the list.

Here you will be presented with a few Playlist options such as:

  • Editing your presentation
  • Adjusting the duration of your presentation
  • Adjusting the dates of your presentation
  • Adjusting the transitions between playlist items.

Please Note: You may receive an error if the chosen playlist item is not compatible with Apple TV be sure to toggle the Apple TV Compatible option when choosing a template to avoid errors if using an Apple TV. 

One you have chosen your all your playlist items you choose Save to publish your selections and begin the slide show on your display(s).

Congratulations! You have successfully created content and updated your Rise Vision display.

Tips and Tricks

  • PowerPoints files can be exported as videos and displayed through the Video Full Screen template
  • Toggle Apple TV Compatible option for Apple TV compatible Templates.

If a display shows offline:

  • Check the physical connection (power and network).
  • Ensure the media player is turned on and connected.
  • Contact the Service Desk if the issue persists.

  1.  What if I forgot my login credentials?

Use the "Forgot Password" option on the login page or contact your IT support team for assistance.

  1.  How do I report an issue?

If you experience issues logging in or using Rise Vision, you can contact the Service Desk at 412-396-4357 or email help@duq.edu.
