Unable to sign in to Duquesne-owned machine

Issue:

  • I can't sign in to my Duquesne-managed computer
  • My computer won't let me log in and shows an error message
  • I get an error message when I try to sign in on my Duquesne computer
  • Stuck at the sign-in screen on my work computer
  • Windows: "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
  • Windows: "The username or password is incorrect"
  • Windows: "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed"
  • macOS: my Mac says my password is incorrect when I try to sign in

Environment:

  • Duquesne-managed computer Windows or macOS

Resolution:

Troubleshooting Steps:

Try your old password

  • If you recently changed your MultiPass password, try your old password — the computer may not have picked it up yet, since it needs to connect to the network first.
  • Check that Caps Lock is not on, and retype your password carefully.

Hard wire and retry log in

  1. Connect the machine to DuqNet using an Ethernet cable or docking station.
  2. Restart the machine.
  3. Confirm that the Ethernet icon appears in the lower-right corner of the screen.
  4. Attempt to sign in again.
