Domain Isn't Available Error

Issue

Can't sign into Windows computer. Error message: We can't sign you in with this credential because your domain isn't available. Make sure your device is connected to your organization's network and try again. If you previously signed in on this device with another credential, you can sign in with that credential 

Environment

  • Windows operating system

Resolution

  1. Initial Troubleshooting Steps:

    • Connect the machine to DuqNet using an Ethernet cable or docking station.
    • Restart the machine.
    • Confirm that the Ethernet icon appears in the lower-right corner of the screen.
    • Attempt to sign in again.
  2. If the Error Persists:

    • Scenario A: Student cannot sign in, but an employee can:

      • Have the employee sign into the machine.
      • Open Dell Command Update.
      • Install all available updates.
      • Restart the machine and repeat the initial troubleshooting steps.
    • Scenario B: No one can sign into the machine:

      • Laptop: Bring the device to the TechHub located on the 2nd floor of the Union.
      • Desktop: Submit an elevated support request to the technical team.
