How To: Find Your Computer's MAC Address

Issue

Users need to locate the MAC (Media Access Control) address of their device for network registration, troubleshooting, or configuration purposes.

Windows 10 / 11

  1. Press Windows + R, type cmd, and press Enter.

  2. In the Command Prompt, type ipconfig /all and press Enter.

  3. Scroll to find your network adapter:

    • Ethernet Adapter – Look for Physical Address under “Ethernet adapter.”

    • Wireless Adapter – Look for Physical Address under “Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi.”

  4. The Physical Address is your MAC address (format: 00-1A-2B-3C-4D-5E)

 

macOS (Ventura and later)

  1. Go to Apple Menu > System Settings > Network.

  2. Click the i icon next to your active network connection:

    • For Wi-Fi: Click Wi-Fi > Details, scroll to MAC Address.

    • For Ethernet: Plug in a cable, then select Ethernet > Details, scroll to MAC Address.
