Xerox: Troubleshooting Connections

Resolution 

Add New Xerox Printer

Use XPrint to temporarily map to a different Xerox printer, which refreshes the print driver and restores the original printer connection.

  1. In the Windows search bar, type:
    \\xprint and hit enter or choose \\xprint run command
  2. In the XPrint window, locate and double-click:
    acllxerox
  3. Wait for the Windows Printer Installation window to appear
    • Confirm the printer installs successfully
    • If an error appears, submit a Help Desk ticket
  4. Wait for the print queue window to appear, confirming installation
  5. Send a test print to the newly installed Xerox printer
    • Do not select your original department Xerox
  6. After the test print succeeds, open the Windows search bar
  7. Type and select:
    Printers & Scanners
  8. Locate acllxerox on xprint
  9. Click the printer and select Remove device
  10. Click Yes to confirm removal
  11. Verify:
    • The temporary Xerox printer is removed
    • Your original department Xerox printer has reappeared and is functional
  12. If the original printer does not return or printing issues persist:
    • Submit a Help Desk ticket
    • Include any error messages received
