How To: Set Up Automatic Email Forwarding (Students Only)

This article provides instructions for setting an email forward from your University student email account to a personal email account.

Per Duquesne's Automatic Email Forwarding Policy, University employees are prohibited from forwarding emails from their University account to a personal email account. However, students are still permitted and able to configure this setting.

Steps

Setting an Email Forward

  1. Visit duq.edu/mail and sign in with your MultiPass username and password
  2. Click the gear icon located in the top-left corner and then select View all Outlook settings

  3. Select the Mail tab and then the Forwarding tab

  4. On the Forwarding menu, check the Enable forwarding option and then type in the email address you would like to forward emails to. Click Save to set the forward

FAQs

Q: What does the Keep a copy of forwarded message option do?
A: If enabled, this option keeps a copy of an email in your university account and forwards a copy to your designated forwarding address.

Q: Will all of my old emails be forwarded to my personal account?
A: No. After you set a forward on your university email account, any emails you receive from that point on will be forwarded to your personal account.

Q: How do I turn off an email forward?
A: Repeat steps 1-3 in this article, uncheck Enable forwarding, and then click Save.
