What Is It?
Summer Federal Work Study is a needs based Financial Aid Program that allows students to earn money over the summer. Students are able to work up to 20 hours a week if they are enrolled in classes and up to 35 hours a week if they are not enrolled in classes.
Who Is Eligible to Use It?
If a Duquesne student is enrolled in summer classes, in order to be eligible for Federal Work Study, they must:
- have a completed 2024-2025 FAFSA
- meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
- have financial need based off the Cost of Attendance other Financial Aid and the student's SAI.
If a student is not enrolled in summer classes, they will need to complete a:
- 2025-2026 FAFSA
- meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
- be registered for classes for the Fall 2025 semester
- have financial need in the Fall 2025 semester based off Cost of attendance, other Financial Aid, and the student's SAI.
Keep in mind that if a student in not enrolled in summer classes, the work study in the summer is considered a financial aid resource for the Fall term and may affect Financial Aid eligibility in the Fall semester.
