Home Screen
Home Screen Overview
- a. Tool Bar: Provides access to client features. Options include
- Home
- Contacts
- Chat
- Call History
- Voicemail
- Settings
- b. Inbox: Displays the most recent Chats, Missed Calls, Voicemails, and Ad-Hoc Meetings.
- c. Status: Displays the current color-coded status and provides the options to change.
- d. Shortcuts: Personalized shortcuts on the home screen can be a URL, Speed Dial, or a Contact.
- e. Outgoing Device Selection: Displays the active device and options to change. Also displays softphone status.
The Mitel icon will flash in the toolbar when a call or notification arrives.
Tool Bar Overview
- Home: Displays shortcuts, and inbox.
- Contacts: Displays corporate contacts by default. Also includes personal contacts.
- Chat: Displays chat messages.
- MiTeam: Team base connections, including meetings, chat, document sharing.
- Call History: Displays a list of dialed, received, and missed calls.
- Voicemail: Displays messages and provides option to listen to the messages.
- Meetings: Create an instant or scheduled meeting that includes voice, video, and messaging.
- Settings: Includes options to change Voicemail settings, Call settings, Manage statuses, and Calendar integration.
Shortcut
Starting on the Home Screen
- Click on the Action icon (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner
- Choose from
- New URL
- Use to add a URL for launching a web browser
- New Speed Dial
- Use to add a number for speed dial
- New Contact
- Use to add a corporate contact
Note: You cannot add personal contacts to the home page
- New Group
- Use to create a new group and add it to the home screen for easy access
- Add Group
- Use to add an existing group to the home screen for easy access
How to Place a Call
From the
Main Window Panel, enter a name or number in the search field, or dial the whole 10 digit phone number (area code and the 7 digit number).
From the
Call History screen, hover over the contact and click the phone icon
From the Contacts screen, hover over the contact and click the phone icon.
Call Window
Incoming Calls
On an incoming call, a Call Notification will pop up in the lower-right corner of your screen.

Caller ID information is displayed

To Ignore: Click the red Decline icon. The caller will be sent to voicemail.
c.
To Answer: Click on the green Accept icon.
Note: The answer icon will display the device that will be used to answer the call.
Active Calls
a. To start a Conference
- Click the three vertical dots
- Select Conference, and then select a contact or type a number in the Main Window Panel.
- Select the Call icon for a Consultation Call.
- Introduce the call and click + to complete the conference
Note: The 2nd party must answer before the calls can be conferenced together.
b. To start a Transfer
- Click the three vertical dots
- Select Transfer, and then select a contact or type a number in the Main Window Panel.
- Select the Call icon for a Blind Transfer
Contacts
The Contacts page provides access to all groups, personal contacts, and corporate contacts. Right-click on the contact or hover over the contact to view the communication options.

Chat
From the Shortcuts on the
Home Screen,
Contacts window,
Chat window, or
Call History window, hover over the contact and click the chat icon.
Type your message in the chat field and press
Enter to send.
Call History
Using the bar across the top of the Call History screen, you can select the type of calls to view:
All
Missed
Received
Outgoing
Hover over a contact to select the next action:
Call
Chat
Contact
Ad-Hoc
Voicemail
From the Tool Bar, select
Voicemail. New messages, or messages that have not been played are marked in
bold.
You may play and delete voicemail messages. While playing the message, you can advance or rewind the message by dragging the tracker accordingly.
Settings
- General: Additional settings available for MiCollab personalization.
Features include: Chat Options, My Numbers, Personal Contacts, Change Password, and Notifications.
- Voicemail Settings: Provides options to update voicemail PIN.
- Call Settings:
- Call Using: Use this option to define the default device for placing calls
- Default Calling Mode: Choose between Video calls and phone calls.
- Presence Privacy: Presence can be toggled on and off. A rule can be added to allow some users.
- Manage Status: Manage or create statuses.
- Calendar Integration: Enables MiCollab to receive updates from the calendar and change the status and availability automatically.
- Schedules: Enables MiCollab to automatically update statuses based on the scheduled date and time.
- About: Provides the current version of this installation of MiCollab.
Edit Status
- Name: Enter a name for the status
- Call Using: From the drop down select the device that will be used to make calls when this status is active.
- Send My Calls To: From the drop down select the setting where calls should go when the phone is active and this status is active.
- If I do not answer: From the drop down select the setting where calls should go if unanswered when this status is active.
- Do Not Disturb: Mark check box to turn do not disturb on when this status is active.
- Accept Video Calls: Mark check box to accept video calls when this status is active.
- Accept Message: Mark check box to accept chats when this status is active.
- IM Auto-Reply: Enter a reply that will be sent when a chat is received and this status is active.
- Done: Click Done to save changes and add new status
How to Change Status
From the Main Window Panel, click on your Contact Icon or picture in the top-right corner of the screen.
You can choose the new status from the dropdown, or click Manage Statuses to create a new one. Optionally, a personal message can be entered.
