How To: Add your Retiree Email to a Mobile Device or Email Client

Overview

After signing into your @retiree.duq.edu email account for the first time, you can add your account to a mobile device or email client. When adding an account to a mobile device or email client, you can choose to sync your email, calendar, contacts and reminders.

Microsoft Outlook 2016 for Windows OS

  1. Click Start and search Control Panel.
  2. Select Control Panel in the search results.
  3. Click View by: Large Icons.
  4. Click Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016).
  5. Click Show Profiles.
  6. Click Add and enter a profile name.
  7. If prompted, enter your name, @retiree.duq.edu email address and password.
  8. Click Next.
  9. If prompted, enter your @retiree.duq.edu account password and click Sign in.
  10. Click Finish.

Microsoft Outlook 2016 for macOS

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click Tools > Accounts.
  3. Click the + dropdown and New Account.
  4. Enter your @retiree.duq.edu email address and click Continue.
  5. Enter your @retiree.duq.edu account password and click Sign in.
  6. Click Done.

Microsoft Outlook app for iOS and Android

After downloading the Microsoft Outlook app in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), follow the steps below to set up your account:

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Enter your @retiree.duq.edu email address and click Add Account.
  3. Enter your @retiree.duq.edu account password and click Sign in.

iOS Mail App

  1. Tap Settings and then Passwords & Accounts.
  2. Tap Add Account.
  3. Select Microsoft Exchange.
  4. Enter your @retiree.duq.edu email address in the Email field.
  5. Enter "Duquesne University" in the Description field and tap Next.
  6. When prompted to choose between Configure Manually or Sign in, tap Sign In.
  7. Enter your @retiree.duq.edu and tap Sign in.
  8. Select the items you would like to sync to your phone and tap Save.

macOS Mail App

  1. Open Mail.
  2. Click Mail in the top left corner of the screen and then select Add Account.
  3. Select Exchange and then Continue.
  4. Enter your @retiree.duq.edu email address and click Sign in.
  5. When prompted to choose between Configure Manually or Sign in, click Sign In.
  6. Enter your @retiree.duq.edu account password and click Sign in.
  7. Select the items you would like to sync to your Mac and click Done.

Employees who retire from Duquesne University, and are eligible for retiree status, will automatically receive access to an @retiree.duq.edu email account.
