Mobile iOS Device Support Levels

Description

Duquesne supports Apple iOS devices that are enrolled in the University's device management system and capable of using Apple's latest iOS version. Apple iOS devices have an end-of-life cycle where the device will be unable to use Apple's latest OS for security updates and functionality.

Apple iOS Device Support Levels Defined

Full Support

An application or device receives full support if it is eligible for manufacturer support, security updates and non-security hotfixes. CTS will provide assistance to resolve software configuration and functional issues in conjunction with vendor support and interaction.

For an Apple iOS device to be eligible for full support, it must be enrolled in the University's device management system, Jamf.

Limited Support

An application or device receives limited support if it is nearing or has entered end-of-life support by CTS or the vendor. CTS will provide best-effort support to resolve issues and make recommendations for product support or application replacement.

Due to the age of the device or application, it may have limited vendor support and decreased functionality. CTS will continue to provide critical security patches and updates where applicable. Replacement or upgrade should be considered in the near future for continued use before the device reaches the no support level.

No Support

An application or device receives no support if the manufacturer no longer supports it. CTS will not provide support and the application or device may be prohibited from using University resources.

Duquesne mobile phones for University business.
University-managed devices using a Windows operating system (OS) will receive updates through Software Center on a monthly basis.
