Campus Entertainment Guide

Introduction

This document provides an overview of the entertainment services available on campus. Cable TV is available in designated recreation areas, offering students a place to gather and enjoy live television. Additionally, our campus is equipped with an IoT network that allows students to connect streaming devices, such as smart TVs, directly to the network. This guide outlines where cable services are available and lists compatible streaming devices that can be used across campus.

Note: Duquesne University is not affiliated with any of the streaming services, devices, or platforms mentioned in this document. The inclusion of these services is for informational purposes only. Students are responsible for managing their own accounts, subscriptions, and technical support related to these services. Duquesne University does not help or support any third-party streaming services or devices apart from connection to the IOT network.

Cable Access on Campus

Cable TV is available in most common areas and lounges located on the ground floors of the Living Learning Centers (LLCs) at Duquesne University. Whether you’re catching up on the latest news, sports, or entertainment, these lounges provide reliable access to live television. Students in all living learning centers can enjoy this amenity, offering a great place to relax or gather with friends for shared viewing.

DuqNet IoT

DuqNet Internet of Things (IoT) is a dedicated wireless network for smart televisions, gaming consoles, and streaming devices. Students residing on campus can register up to four devices, such as Apple TV, PlayStation 4, Roku, and Xbox One, on DuqNet IoT.

Please note that streaming devices connected to DuqNet IoT must be controlled via their respective remotes. This network is strictly intended for recreational use, meaning it cannot be used to connect computers or mobile devices, and it does not provide access to internal academic resources.

Note: DuqNet IoT is available exclusively to on-campus students and only in the Living Learning Centers and recreational areas on campus
