How To: Connect a Smartphone or Chromebook to DuqNet Wi-Fi (iPhone & Android)

Description

DuqNet, Duquesne University's high-speed wireless network, provides wireless connectivity across all campus buildings and in many outdoor areas. Students, faculty and staff can connect to DuqNet on their personal and university-managed devices.

How to Connect On

Android Smartphone

Users can follow the steps below to set up wireless on an Android mobile phone or tablet. Please note that Android versions 4.1.1 and 4.2.2 do not connect to DuqNet. If you have either of these Android versions, please update your device to the most recent Android version available.

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Navigate to WiFi settings
  3. After opening the Wi-Fi settings, choose DuqNet
  4. For DuqNet, EAP method will be PEAP and Phase 2 authentication will be MSCHAPV2. Leave CA certificate as use system certificates. Under Domain, enter duq.edu.
  5. Enter your MultiPass username for Identity and your MultiPass password for Password. Leave Anonymous Identity blank. Click Connect

  6. You are now connected to DuqNet!

iPhone

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Open the Wi-Fi Settings

  3. Open DuqNet from the list of Wi-Fi networks
  4. Enter your MultiPass username and password for the username and password
  5. If prompted, Trust the Certificate in the upper-right hand corner
  6. You are now connected to DuqNet!

Chromebook

  1. Click the Network icon in the lower-right corner of your screen
  2. Select your network status from the menu that appears
  3. Make sure Wi-Fi usage is enabled, which will allow your Chromebook to detect nearby networks. In the menu that appears, click Chromebook WiFi Disabled Icon. If you see Chromebook WiFi Enabled Icon, that means Wi-Fi is already enabled
  4. Detected networks automatically show up in the menu. Select DuqNet
  5. For EAP method, choose PEAP
  6. For Phase 2 Authentication, choose MSCHAPV2
  7. For CA Certificate, choose Do Not Check
  8. For username, enter your MultiPass Username
  9. For password, enter your MultiPass password
  10. Select Connect
  11. When you see the icon in the lower-right corner of your screen, that means your Chromebook is connected to the network
