Admin by Request is a privilege management tool designed to enhance the security of our managed campus endpoints. The application logs tasks executed with administrative rights allowing more efficient and accurate security monitoring.
This application is being rolled out by CTS and does not require any action to be taken on your device. Once Admin by Request is installed, a variation of the below icon will appear on the taskbar/menu bar on campus endpoints:

- Why is this being installed on campus endpoints?
Installing malicious software on our endpoints is often the target of various bad actors. Once one piece of malicious software makes it onto a device, several software installations and various configurations to evade our security immediately follow. Using Admin By Request, we are better able to quickly audit suspicious installations or configuration changes that occur before or during these types of attacks.
- What effects will this have on my device?
As this application is rolled out through campus, you will not notice any changes to your endpoint outside the appearance of a new icon in the menu bar/taskbar.
