Adobe Acrobat X, XI, 2015 DC, & 2017 Ends Support

Overview

Beginning in June 2022, Computing and Technology Services (CTS) ended support for Acrobat versions X, XI and 2015 DC and notified users to remove or upgrade to a supported version. As of November 2022, Acrobat 2017 is now an unsupported version. CTS requires Adobe Acrobat versions that are no longer supported to be uninstalled from your computer to help keep your device secure. If the application is not removed or upgraded by the end user. CTS will initiate the uninstallation of the unsupported version.

What do I need to do?

If you have Adobe Acrobat X, XI, 2015 DC, or 2017 installed on your computer, follow these instructions for Windows and Mac devices to manually uninstall it.

Why should I uninstall Adobe Acrobat?

Adobe no longer provides updates and security patches for Acrobat X, XI, 2015 DC, and 2017. If unsupported and out-of-date software is installed on your computer, it can leave your device susceptible to hackers and security vulnerabilities. Most security attacks leverage security holes in out-of-date software. Visit Adobe's product support list webpage to view technical support periods for Adobe software.

Can I purchase a new version of Adobe Acrobat?

Yes, please contact the Duquesne Computer Store to purchase the newest available version of Adobe Acrobat.

Does the University require Adobe Acrobat to be installed on my computer?

No, Adobe Acrobat is an additional software package that can be purchased through the Duquesne Computer Store and installed on your University-managed computer. Adobe Acrobat allows you to create, convert, edit, share and sign PDFs. Visit Adobe's website to view all Adobe Acrobat features.

Note: If you already purchased a University subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud from the Computer Store, Acrobat is included.
