Adobe will stop supporting Flash Player after Dec. 31. In addition, Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player starting Jan. 12. CTS recommends uninstalling Flash Player to help secure your computer.
What do I need to do?
If you are using a University-managed computer, Flash Player will automatically be uninstalled from your device with a Windows update in December. If you have Flash Player installed on your personal computer, follow these instructions for Windows and Mac devices to manually uninstall it yourself.
Why should I uninstall Flash Player?
Adobe will no longer provide updates and security patches for Flash Player after Dec. 31. If unsupported and out-of-date software is installed on your computer, it can leave your device susceptible to hackers and security vulnerabilities. Most security attacks leverage security holes in out-of-date software.
What if I am using an application or software title that still requires Flash Player?
Please contact the application or software vendor to see what they recommend. Adobe announced they would stop supporting Flash Player in 2017, so most application and software developers should have already migrated Flash content to new standards.
Do any University applications or services require Flash Player?
No, all applications and services used at Duquesne do not require Flash Player. If you use Kronos, the University's workforce management application, please use the following link to access it and update your Kronos bookmark: https://kronos.duq.edu.
