What Is It?

Computing and Technology Services (CTS) supports network printers and personal printers in departments and schools.

Printer support

Printers are classified into two major categories: enterprise and personal. Hewlett-Packard (HP) is the University's preferred printer manufacturer.

Network printers

The enterprise category consists of HP LaserJet products and Xerox multi-functional copiers. Printers in this category are:

  • The most serviceable
  • To be purchased through the Duquesne University Computer Store
  • Configured and managed on the University's printer servers
  • HP LaserJet products are supported for a maximum of 5 years.

Personal printers

The personal category consists of non-networked printer products. Printers in this category are:

  • The least serviceable
  • To be purchased through the Duquesne University Computer Store
  • Supported to the end of the manufacturer's warranty. After the warranty has expired, best-effort support is provided for the printer.
