Overview

Employees who retire from Duquesne University and are eligible for retiree status will automatically receive access to an @retiree.duq.edu email account. As stated in TAP 18, Duquesne University defines "retiree status" as the attainment of age 62 with 10 years of full-time continuous service.

All past retirees will transition from their @duq.edu account to an @retiree.duq.edu account by July 1, 2020.

What is retiree email?

Duquesne University is providing a free version of Office 365 email to all University retirees to help sustain their connections with other retirees, colleagues and the University. This email is housed in a separate system from Duquesne's official @duq.edu accounts and will end with @retiree.duq.edu.

What access do retirees get?

An @retiree.duq.edu account only provides web-based email and calendar access. It does not provide access to Duquesne online services and resources, including DORI, library resources and free Microsoft Office.

I'm already retired. Will I be affected by this?

All employees who retired before May 1, 2019, will be transitioned from their MultiPass-enabled @duq.edu account to an @retiree.duq.edu account. As part of this transition, you will lose access to your @duq.edu account on July 1, 2020.

How do I sign up for an @retiree.duq.edu account?

Sign-up automatically occurs as part of retirement processing through Human Resources. Once your @retiree.duq.edu account is available, an email from Microsoft will be sent to your @duq.edu account.
