Description
Students, Faculty or Staff who identify by a name other than their given first name (or "legal name") may use a Chosen First Name. This article will explain the process for adding a Chosen First Name to your account.
Steps
Members of the Duquesne University community can add a Chosen First Name change within the Duquesne Portal Self Service/Personal Information. Alumni can contact Alumni Affairs.
Note: Special characters and accent marks are not supported when typing a Chosen First Name. (special character examples: $@#%^~&*) (accent mark examples: é - â/ê/î/ô/û - à/è/ì/ò/ù)
- Log in to duq.edu/portal.
- For students, click Personal Information in the Student Profile tile.
- For faculty and staff, click Personal Information in the Employee Profile tile.
- In the top right of the page, Personal Details block, click Edit
- Enter your Chosen First Name, then click Update
