How To: Use Secure Print in Windows

Description

The article describes steps on how to use secure print on a Windows computer. Secure print is the ability to print a job from the client computer that will be held at the Xerox copier with the end user designated release code. Doing this will hold the print job at the copier in a secure manner until the user goes to the copier to release it via the code they configured. 

Steps

  1. Open or create you Document
  2. Go to File Print and select you Xerox printer

  3. Choose Printer Properties

  4. In Job Type select Secure Print


     
  5. When the Secure Code window opens input a Passcode that you need to remember
    • NOTE: If you forget your code, you can create a new Pass Code and reprint the document

  6. When you go to the Copier select Jobs

  7. Select Secure Jobs

    Select Secure Jobs
     
  8. Select Your Secure Jobs

  9. Enter Your Passcode  
  10. Print All or delete all jobs

    select to print all or delete all jobs
     
  11. Once you are done you can Leave or remove the Passcode from the Printer Properties by returning Job Types back to Normal Print or leaving Job Type on Secure Print

Note:

This is different than accounting codes that are put on printers. If you configure secure print and submit a job to a Xerox with accounting codes, you will still be prompted for that accounting code after job submission.
