How To: Add an Email Address to the Safe Senders List

Description

Microsoft Exchange has a robust spam-protection filter that makes use of machine learning and various threat protection models to automatically detect, sort, and filter spam and malware emails to the Junk folder.

However, in some rare cases this filter can make a mistake and misidentify a sender as spam. In cases like this, Outlook and Outlook on the Web (OWA) provide end-users with the Safe Senders List. This tool allows you to identify specific senders as "safe," and prevent the filter from marking their emails as spam. This article will explain how you can add a sender to this list.

Methods

Microsoft Outlook for Windows

  1. With Outlook open to the Home ribbon, select Junk from either the horizontal dots drop down or from the Junk icon
