Issue
If you are having problems reaching Duquesne websites, there are a few basic steps you can take to resolve the most common issues. This article contains an overview on how to troubleshoot your Internet and your web browser.
Resolution
Check Your Internet Connection
The first thing you should do is make sure that your Internet connection is stable and working properly. If you are using a wired connection, try unplugging the Ethernet cable and plugging it back in.
If you are using a WiFi connection at home, try moving closer to the router or switching to a different device to see if the problem is with your device or the Internet connection. Try unplugging the router from power, waiting 5 seconds, and plugging it back in.
Try disconnecting from your WiFi network (including DuqNet) and reconnecting to it. Here's how to do it:
- On your device, go to the "Settings" menu
- Find the "Wireless & Network" or "Wi-Fi" section
- Look for the option to view or manage your wireless networks
- Find your WiFi network and select the option to forget it
- Close the settings and try connecting to the network again

Clear your cache and cookies
Clearing your cache and cookies can help resolve issues with connecting to websites, as these files can sometimes cause problems with how the website loads. To clear your cache and cookies, follow these steps:
- In your browser, go to the "Settings" or "Preferences" menu
- Find the "Privacy" or "Security" section
- Look for the option to clear your cache and cookies
- Select this option and confirm that you want to clear your cache and cookies

Restart your device
Sometimes, simply restarting your device can help resolve connectivity issues. Shut down your device, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on and try accessing the website again.
Check for any website outages or maintenance
It's possible that the website you are trying to access is currently experiencing an outage or undergoing maintenance. Check the IT Services Known Outages page to see if there are any announcements about outages or maintenance that may be affecting your ability to access the site.
