How To: Clear Your Browser Cache

When troubleshooting issues with any website, it is often helpful to empty your browser cache. Your browser cache are old files that your browser stores to help speed up surfing the web, but these files can cause problems when they are out of date. Steps

Google Chrome

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of your web browser
  2. Hover over the More Tools option, then click Clear Browsing Data...
  3. Under Time Range, select All Time
  4. Select the items you want to clear: Browsing history, Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files
  5. Click Clear Data
  6. Restart Google Chrome

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three dots in the upper-right hand corner of the browser
  2. Choose Settings
  3. On the left-hand side, navigate to Privacy, search, and services
  4. Besides the Clear browsing data now option, click Choose what to clear
  5. Set the time range to All time
  6. Select Browsing history, Download history, Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files
  7. Click Clear now

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the upper right-hand corner of the browser
  2. Click Settings
  3. Navigate to Privacy & Security
  4. Scroll down to find Cookies and Site Data. Under Cookies and Site Data, click Clear Data...
  5. Select Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content
  6. Click Clear
  7. Restart Mozilla Firefox

Safari for Mac

  1. Click the Safari menu, then Clear History...
  2. In the Clear field, choose All History
  3. Click Clear History
  4. Restart Safari

Safari for iOS (iPhone, iPad)

  1. From the home screen, select Settings > Safari
  2. At the bottom of Safari's settings screen, select Clear History and Website Data
  3. Click Clear History and Data
  4. Restart any websites currently open in Safari

Android

  1. Select Menu, then More
  2. Select Settings
  3. Under "Privacy Settings," select Clear cache, Clear history, or Clear all cookie data as appropriate
  4. Click OK
  5. Restart any Android websites currently open
