Duquesne-managed Device: Software Updates

Description

This article explains how to use Software Center (Windows) and Self Service (Mac) to keep software on your Duquesne-managed computer up to date.
These applications allow users to install approved software, receive updates, and maintain required applications provided by Computing and Technology Services.

Windows

Using the Software Center

  1. Open Software Center by searching and selecting the Software Center application on your Duquesne owned Windows machine. 
  2. In the Software Center, open the Updates tab on the left-hand side

  3. In the window on the right, a list of applications with pending updates will appear
  4. Click Install All to run these updates

macOS

Using Self Service

  1. Open Self Service by searching and selecting the Self Service application on your Duquesne owned Apple machine. 
  2. In Self Service, a list of applications that you can install on your computer will be listed in the menu on the right. If an application has a pending update, it will be listed with the "Update" option

  3. Click Update to run any pending updates
