How To: Reset the Password of a Sponsored Account

Body

Description

A Sponsored Account is a Duquesne account created to give guests access to Duquesne resources. Individuals who are not affiliated with the University in an official capacity can use a sponsored account. This includes, but is not limited to, contractors, vendors, visiting scholars, alumni and event guests. There are also special "HIPAA Zoom Sponsored Accounts" that are used to enable a HIPAA mode setting in Zoom. Setting up a Sponsored Account and resetting the password is very similar to setting up and resetting the password on a usual MultiPass account, but your username will be different. This article will explain how to get that username and how to set up your account.

Setting Up Your Sponsored Account

  1. You should receive an email in your mailbox which provides a Sponsored Account username

  2. Go to https://sspr.duq.edu and click Claim Account or Forgot Your Password (this will look slightly different on mobile)

  3. Enter the username that was provided in the email in step 1 into the first field, and the digits seen on the left in the second field, then press Continue

If you prefer, you can click the "Play Audio" option to hear the numbers instead.
  4. Select the email where you would like to receive your verification code. Then, click Continue.

  5. Check your email. You should have received a verification code. Enter that code into the first field, and in the second field, just like in step 3, retype the digits displayed above it. Then, click Continue.

Check your junk mail if you cannot find the email in your inbox. If you never receive your verification code, contact the IT Service Desk.

  6. You will be presented with Duquesne University's Computing and Technology policies. Read these policies and check "I Agree," then click Continue.

  7. On the Reset Password screen, you will set your password. Making sure that you follow the password policies listed on the page, set a New Password and then retype the new password to Confirm New Password, then click Reset Password.

A green check mark will appear to the left of password policies when your password meets that criteria.

  8. You have set your Sponsored Account password.

Changing Your Sponsored Account Password

Changing the password on your Sponsored Account is the same as described in How To: Change Your MultiPass Password. However, you will need to use your sponsored account username instead of your MultiPass username.
