What Is It?
Students, Faculty or Staff who identify by a name other than their given first name (or "legal name") may use a Chosen First Name.
There are circumstances, however, where the person's given first name remains appropriate and must continue to be used, such as where required by law. To foster an educational environment of respect and inclusiveness, community members should endeavor to refer to individuals by their Chosen First Name, when known, unless otherwise requested by that individual.
